Coy Dean Rigney, 75, of Stanford, KY died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of 55 years to Alice Fay Covington Rigney. He was born in Casey County, KY on August 5, 1942 to the late William Earl Rigney and Lorene Goodin Rigney. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Dejuna “Dana” Kirby (Tim) of Stanford, KY; three sons, Yancey Rigney (Tina) of N. Charleston, S.C., Coy Rigney II (Christy) of New Port News, VA, and Robin Rigney (Kim) of Lexington, KY; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, Eugene Rigney of Groveland, FL, Kenneth Rigney of Coldwater, MS, Dean Rigney of Belton, TX, and Billy Rigney of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Miller. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a wonderful man who worked hard all of his life. We all loved him dearly and will miss him so much. A one day service has been scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 12-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm. Rev. Steve Harn and Yancey Rigney will officiate the service and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
