Julia Powers, 92, of Kings Mountain, KY passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Stanford Care & Rehab. Born March 1, 1925 in Blackey, KY to the late George and Alice Fields Caudill, she was the widow of the late Esom Powers. She was a retired employee of the Old Fort Logan Hospital where she worked as head of housekeeping, and was a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons; W.C. Powers (Sandra) of Murfreesboro, TN, and George Richard Powers (Sandy) of Waynesburg, KY, one daughter; Elizabeth Stull of Waynesburg, KY, two sisters; Rebexie Benton of Waynesburg, KY, and Helen Irene Bishop of Keystone Heights, FL, seven grandchildren; Jim Powers (Julie), Beverly Gill (Dale), Bonnie Stull, Rosemary Stull, Maurice Powers, Jr., Tamsen Powers, and Chris Ashley, six great-grandchildren; Brandon Gill, Heather Gill Walker (Theo), Allison Powers, Ashley Powers, Austin Powers, and Josh Powers, two great-great-grandchildren; Wesley Gill and Brayden Gill, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons; Robert Lee Powers (infant son) and Maurice Powers, Sr., four brothers; James Lowell Caudill, Beckham Caudill, Reuben Caudill, and John Caudill, and two sisters; Anna Eldridge and Alta Stamper. A one day service has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 10am-1pm with funeral service beginning at 1pm with Reverend David Gambrel officiating. Burial will follow at Leach Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Casket bearers are: Chris Ashley, Maurice Powers, Jr., Brandon Gill, Tommy Engle, Austin Powers, and Josh Powers. Honorary bearer will be: Doyle Davis.
