Lloyd M. Sims, 91, of Monclova, OH (formerly of Kings Mountain, KY) passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Born March 17, 1926 in Kings Mountain, KY to the late George and Vivian Carmen Sims, he was the widower of the late Mildred Lawson Sims. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in both WWII and the Korean War, and he was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Cincinnati and lived on Hamilton Ave. in Northside Ohio for 50 years. Survivors include his daughter, Darlene Zickafoose (John) of Monclova, OH; one brother, Leaman Sims (Thelma) of Hustonville, KY; two grandchildren, Jason Zickafoose and Brittany Zickafoose both of Monclova, OH, a daughter-in-law, Gail Sims of Northside, OH and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Preston D. Sims and a grandson, Justin Zickafoose; five brothers, Roy Sims, Earl Sims, Manford Sims, Russell Sims, and Lester Sims; and three sisters, Essie Wilson, Jewell Smith, and Ora Alcorn. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 12-4pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 11am Monday, December 11, 2017 at the funeral home with Jason Coulter officiating. Burial will follow at K.P. Hall Cemetery in Kings Mountain, KY.
