Imogene Sowders Singleton, 84, of Waynesburg, KY passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Stanford Health and Rehab in Stanford, KY. Born December 19, 1934 in Lincoln County, KY to the late George and Bessie Ballard Sowders, she was the widow of the late James E. Singleton, and was a retired employee of Cowdens where she worked as an inspector for 25 years. She was also a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Steve Singleton (Vicky) of Stanford, KY, and Sheila Robbins (Mark) of Waynesburg, KY; four sisters, Lois Davidson, Dovie Cummins, and Ann Denham all of Stanford, KY, and Georgie Smalley of Harrodsburg, KY; four grandchildren, Steven Singleton (Stacy), James Singleton (Lisa), John Mark Robbins (Kimmy), and Lynsey Stone (Phil); six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tommy, Addyson, Brayden, Harley, and Beckett; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, J.T. Sowders, and Craig Sowders; and one sister, Bonnie Waddell. A one day service has been scheduled for Monday, July 29, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation from 11am-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm with Reverend Gary King officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: John Mark Robbins, James Singleton, Matt Singleton, Michael Wilcher, Mark Robbins, and Phil Stone. Honorary bearers are: Steven Singleton, William "Junebug" Moore, and Ceasar Smalley. The family would like to express their appreciation to Stanford Care & Rehab Center and Heritage Hospice for their kindness, care, and compassion during this difficult time. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Heritage Hospice (120 Enterprise Drive, Danville, KY 40422).
