Jamie Rastus Releford, 39, of Stanford, KY passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born March 2, 1980 in Harrodsburg, KY to William Lynn Releford (Denise) of Harrodsburg, KY, and Rita King (Johnny) of McKinney, KY, he was an employee of Norfolk Southern where he worked for 14 ½ years, and was also a member of Geneva Community Church. Jamie was an avid U.K. fan, loved to play drums in church, and was a collector of guns and coins. He enjoyed watching his daughters play basketball, softball and soccer for Lincoln County. More than anything, Jamie cherished every moment he could get with his girls. He loved people, was known as a comedian to those who knew him, and often volunteered his time helping others. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 20 years, Tamara “Tami” (Hester) Releford of Stanford, KY (whom he married on November 30, 1999); three daughters, Cheyenne Elizabeth Releford, Haleigh Savannah Releford, and Emmie Dawn Releford all of Stanford, KY; six siblings, William Lynn Releford, Jr. (Jennifer) of Tampa, FL, Aaron Culley Releford of Harrodsburg, KY, Caleb Jordan Releford of Houston, TX, Amber Nicole King of McKinney, KY, John Tyler King of Georgetown, IN, and Seth Akers of Lawrenceburg, KY; a best friend whom he thought of as a brother, Billy Tarter; his mother-in-law, Beulah Carr Hester of Stanford, KY; his grandmother, Emma King of McKinney, KY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Justin Lee Releford, and Laura Elizabeth King. Visitation will be Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Green River Pentecostal Church (7330 KY 698, Hustonville, KY) from 4-9pm. Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at the church with Reverend Chris Taylor and Reverend Lynn Releford officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: John David Reed, Billy Tarter, Lynn Releford, Jr., John King, Trey Releford, Aaron Releford, Caleb Releford, Seth Akers, and Amber King. Honorary bearers are his cousins, co-workers at Norfolk Southern, and members of Geneva Community Church. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Cancer Society.
