Jimmy J. Smith, 46, of Danville, KY passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at home. Born December 31, 1972 in Annville, Kentucky to the late Jimmie and Barbara Truitte Smith, he was a veteran of the United States Army, an employee of Dana, Inc., and was a member of the Catholic faith. Jimmy loved spending time with his wife and family, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Wells Smith of Danville, KY; three step-sons, Dlynn Reed (Carrie) of Highland, KY, Andrew Reed, and Johnathan Reed both of Danville, KY; four step-grandchildren, Payton Reed, Kaydence Reed, Skylar Reed, and Levi Reed; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Patsy Wells of Waynesburg, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister. A one day service has been scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 2-6pm with funeral service beginning at 6pm with Reverend David Gambrel officiating. A graveside service will be on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Dlynn Reed, Andrew Reed, Johnathan Reed, Tony Caudill, Daniel Gay, and Shane McAninch.
The funeral procession will be making its way from Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Kentucky to Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 8:15 a.m. We would appreciate all family and friends that intend on being in the funeral procession to arrive at Spurlin Funeral Home no later than 8 a.m.
