Maggie Ellen Stout Van Hook, 79, of Danville, KY passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born July 5, 1939 in Kingston, TN to the late James Stout and Mary Ruth Kelley Stout, she was the widow of the late George Van Hook. She worked as a CNA for most of her life and was a member of Neal’s Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, James F. Van Hook (Debbie) and Byron Eugene Van Hook (Pam); two daughters, Katherine Van Hook and Connie Shotts all of Danville, K; one brother, Mike Stout of Kingston, TN; two sisters, Carol Moore of Kingston, TN, and Phyllis Hurst of Rockwood, TN; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Stout. A one day service has been scheduled for Monday, July 16, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11am-1pm with funeral service beginning at 1pm with her nephew Bill Isham of Rockwood, TN officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: Chris Van Hook, John Van Hook, Ryan Deatherage, Elijah Beasley, Emmanuel Beasley, and Ethan Carmen. Honorary bearers are: Chad Van Hook (Grandson) and Sam Turner (Friend).
