Nellie Douglas Long, 79, of Stanford, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at home. Born July 7, 1939 in Stanford, KY to the late John and Claudia Robbins Douglas, she was a retired employee of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, and was a member of the Baptist Faith. She loved flowers, taking care of people, and loved her grandkids. Survivors include two sons, Billy Long (Melenda) of Waynesburg, KY, and Roger Long (Twila) of Moreland, KY; two daughters, Kristy Yoder (Galen) of Nappanee, IN, and Donna Robbins (Kevin) of Stanford, KY; one brother, Vernon Douglas of Stanford, KY; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Douglas, Johnny Douglas, Donald Douglas, and Bill Douglas; and two sisters, Margaret Garrison and Rose Smith. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford from 5-9pm. Funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the funeral home with Reverends Chris Dalton and Lewis Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Casket bearers are: Jeremy Rice, Tron Long, Tyler Robbins, Jeremy Stamper, Micheal Denny, and Barry Long. Honorary bearers will be: Vernon Douglas, Edith Dean, Becka Kana, Linda Neal, Jim Long, and Gina Snyder.
