Ramon Escobedo Palacios Jr., 92, of Kings Mountain, Ky., passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at home. Born on April 29, 1926 in Cerralbo, Nueva Leon, Mexico, to the late Ramon Escobedo Sr. and Ines Escobedo. He was a lifetime crop farmer across the entire country and into Mexico. He also spent time driving semi-trucks and operating heavy equipment. Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Escobedo of Kings Mountain, KY; two daughters, Frances Betancourt Sauceda and Sue (Roy) Russell; five grandchildren, Alberto “Cocky” (Esther) Hernandez, Catherine (Jeff) Tackett, Alicia (Alex) Olivia, David Sauceda, and Ralph (Vanessa) Sauceda; and his eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved son, Alberta Hernandez. A one day service has been scheduled for Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm with funeral service beginning at 1pm. Reverends Wesley Russell and Joe Hixon will officiate the service and burial will follow at Russell Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Casket bearers are: Kenny Catron, Dennis Stringer, Shelby Brown, David Sauceda, Rafael Sauceda, and Roberto “Cocky” Hernandez. Honorary bearers will be: Alisha Olivia and Isabel Hernandez.
