Raymond “Bud” Hooker, 79, of Junction City, KY passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Charleston Healthcare in Danville, KY. Born November 7, 1939 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Shelton and Edith Gaunce Hooker, he was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a corpsman, and was a former employee of Whirlpool, Inc., Sargent and Greenleaf, and the V.A. Medical Center where he worked in patient transport. Survivors include two nephews, John Oliver (Yvonne) of Danville, KY, and Jim Oliver of Salvisa, KY; four great-nieces, Elizabeth Dunnigan Fair of Somerset, KY, Katie Oliver, Jessica Ann Oliver, and Jessica Seay; and two great-nephews, Matthew Seay and John Paul Oliver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Ann Oliver, and a niece, Anne Oliver. Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be 11am Friday, November 30, 2018 at the funeral home with burial following at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Military rites will be provided by Caswell Saufley Post #18.
