Sherman L. Williams, 77, of Stanford, KY passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at home. Born April 3, 1941 in Kings Mountain, KY to the late James Jasper Williams and Creota Greer Williams, he was a former employee of Lincoln County Road Department, and a retiree of Lincoln County Schools, and Davis H. Elliot Inc. He was a Tennessee walking horse breeder and exhibitor. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Billie June Roberts-Williams; two children, Shawn Williams (Debra) and Jennifer Williams both of Stanford, KY; one step-daughter, Pam Roberts; one brother, Arlis D. Williams; one sister, Dessie Reynolds; both of Stanford, KY, three grandchildren, Steven Williams, Justin Williams, and Ariel Williams; one great-grandchild, Skylar Williams; four step-grandchildren, Whitney Adkins, Brent Cain, Rebekah Patten Parker, and Shiloh Patten; four step-great-grandchildren, Easton Adkins, Judson Cain, Ethan Parker, and Moriah Parker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl Greer, Kenneth Williams, Wonza Williams, Iva Jean Ernest, and Wilma Jenkins. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5-8pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral will be 1pm Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverends David Conrades and Johnny Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: Dwight Williams, Keith Williams, Brent Cain, Jason Sheron, Jason Adkins, Greg Carter, and Greg Kirkpatrick. Honorary bearers are: Robbie Hill, Leonard Rogers, Barrett Moore, Welby Hamm, and Walking Horse Association Members.
