Thomas Witt, Jr., 77, of Stanford, KY (formerly of Harlan County) passed away on Friday, November 09, 2018 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born December 25, 1940 in Lejunior, KY to the late Thomas Witt, Sr. and Minnie Creech Witt, he was a retired coal miner, and a member of Copper Creek Baptist Church in Brodhead, KY. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Witt of Stanford, KY; two sons, Gary Witt (Janice) of Stanford, KY, and Darrell Witt (Melinda) of Springport, MI; two daughters, Patricia Collins (Steve), and Karen Curry both of Stanford, KY; two brothers, Wayne Witt (Reva) of London, KY, and Jim Witt (Rose) of Louisville, KY; one sister, Dottie Colquit (Dan) of Hodgenville, KY; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Faye Bullock; one son, Billy Ray Witt; three brothers, Glen Witt, Aaron Witt, and Asa Witt; and one sister, Sue Witt Parker Gilbert. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverends Wayne House and Scotty Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Casket bearers will be: Roger Short, Dionte Caldwell, Jason Sylvie, Zach Hampton, Gary Witt, and Darrell Witt.
