On Monday, November 11, 2019 William “Red Fox” Eddie Cornett, 74, of Brooksville, Florida, surrounded by his family, passed away at home peacefully to join his beloved wife, Geneva who preceded him in death. Born on July 10, 1945 in Stanford, KY to the late Dayton C. Cornett and Margaret Leach, he enjoyed being outdoors and gardening, and his favorite hobby was collecting antique clocks. He loved his family deeply, he never met a stranger, and will be missed by so many.
Survivors include a step-son, Danny Lee Lanigan (Sara) of Brooksville, FL; four daughters, Margaret Tarver (Doug) of Spring Hill, FL, Daytonia Cornett of Brooksville, FL, Amanda Harman (Duayne) of Bell Center, OH, and April Hecht of Anna, OH; a step-daughter, Danielle Johnson (Jessie) of Hurst, TX; three brothers, Carl Cornett (Juanita) of Brooksville, FL, Bobby Cornett (Imogene) of Kings Mountain, KY, and Eugene Cornett (Mary) of Sidney, OH; one sister, Lillian Cornett of New Haven, IN; a sister-in-law, Karen Cornett of Sidney, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Adina, Cody, Devin, Kali, Ryan, Rose, Savannah, Adriana, Luke, Mara, Kaleb, Ellisa, Brittany, and Adrianna Lilly-Jean; and three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Brianna, and Ashton; and his dog Gino, who brought him many years of happiness.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cornett.
A one day service has been scheduled on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. A visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vola Brown officiating the service. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.
Pallbearers are Charles Cornett, Chris Cornett, Tony Cornett, Cody Graham, Devin Graham and Herbert Rayborn.
