Betty Estes

Betty Mae Estes, 91, of Hustonville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on July 21, 1935 in New Salem, KY to the late Sam Estes and the late Anna Godbey Estes Coffman.

Betty found great joy in quilting, creating handmade treasures and canning. Among her many talents, she was especially known for making cucumber relish—a family favorite that many would say was simply the best.

Survivors include ten nieces and nephews, Gwen Russell, Rita Pierce (Allen), Barbara Rowland, Darlene Tipton (Donny), Mike Estes (Ann Marie), Greg Estes (Loren), Verna Young, Johnny Ray Estes (Christine), Melissa Kendrick (Eric) and Cecil Wayne Rowland (Amanda); several great- and great-great nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Mable Estes.

She is preceded in death by her father, Sam Estes; mother, Anna Estes Coffman; and five siblings, Alberta Rowland, Roberta Estes, Evelyn Luster, Nellus Estes and Johnny Estes.

A one-day service will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow at Estes Cemetery.
