Albert Vernon “Moose” Brown, 85, of McKinney, KY passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on October 7, 1937 in Lincoln County to the late Willis and Dora Naylor Brown. He was a school bus driver in the Lincoln County School District for 38 years and was also a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. Vernon was a jokester, he never met a stranger and was a true people person. He loved to give everyone nicknames. You could always here Vernon by tuning in to WPBK-FM’s General Store program where he was always selling something, most of the time it was either wood or sausage. He was a member of Geneva Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Patterson Brown of McKinney; five children, Jerry Wayne Brown (Anita) of Stanford, Rebecca Kay Gilpin of McKinney, Clifford Ray Brown (Jan Marie) of Buchanan, Georgia, Judy Gayle Price of Stanford and Greta Sue Franks (Donnie) of Winston, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Dora Brown; and seven siblings.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Geneva Community Church. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Chris Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Jeremy Brown, Aaron Brown, Alvin Coleman, Philip Price, Jr., Bobby Adams and Dustin Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dallas Bussell, Cameron Coleman and Donnie Franks.
