Alta Irene Hodge, 89, of McKinney, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Born on July 6, 1933 in Lincoln County to the late Charlie Lawrence and Birdi Kidd Hodge. She is the widow to the late Kelley Hodge. Irene was a wonderful Christian lady who loved everyone as family. She was a woman with a heart of gold.
Survivors include seven children, Glady Snow of Middleburg, KY, James Hodge (Marchell) of Crab Orchard, Herbert Hodge (Renda), Bobby Hodge, Violet Hodge (Richard), Ronney Hodge (Gloria) and Joey Hodge, all of McKinney, KY; two brothers, Delbert Hodge and Jonas Hodge; two sisters, Ruby Harrison and Joyce Pike; 20 grandchildren, three of which she raised, Amanda Hodge, Johnnie Hodge and Samantha Hodge; 50 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren that she loved as her own; one special grandson, Austin Hodge and one special great-grandson, Wyatt Denson; and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Kelley Hodge; parents, Charlie Lawrence and Birdi Kidd Hodge; one daughter, Sandy Pullum; three sons, Johnny Hodge, Freeman Hodge and Clay Hodge; three brothers, James Melvin “Hutton” Hodge, George Carlos “Corn” Hodge and Riley “Buddy” Owen Hodge; two sisters, Mammie Helen and Joann Hodge; two grandchildren, Mary Smith and Justin Snow; and two great-grandchildren, Jason Propes and Madaline Reynolds.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September, 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Sister Teresa Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Christian Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Austin Hodge, Hunter Hodge, Ronney Dale Hodge, Travis Pullum, Johnnie Hodge and Donald Snow.
Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
