Ann Abell Jackson, 88, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Born on November 29, 1932 in Stanford, KY to the late Joseph Newland Pettus and the late Agnes Lucille Abell Pettus. She was the widow to the late Albert Daniel Jackson.
Ann Abell’s life was filled with her family, her friends, and her love of home. After graduating from Stanford high school in 1951 she married Albert. When he was away in the Korean war, she graduated from Crump Commerce College in Lexington KY with a business degree. She and Albert started their family soon after his return from the war.
A hard working couple, Ann Abell kept the books for their construction company, Lincoln Construction. Many families in Stanford and the surrounding communities live in one of the houses their company built. Always active, Ann Abell hunted, fished, played games and sports with her husband and four boys.
She had many lifelong friends and always welcome new friends into her life, including her very-much loved daughters-in-law. Ann Abell started a second career as an office worker for Kentucky Utilities where she added to her circle of friends.
While she and Albert traveled, Ann Abell always loved being home the best. Long Sunday drives through Lincoln, Garrard and Boyle Counties were one of her favorite past times, something she shared later in her life when widowed with her special friend, Jeff Jefferies.
Ann Abell also found time to be a Cub Scout den mother, PTA volunteer, hospital auxiliary volunteer, county clerk’s office archive volunteer, and was a loyal member of New Beginnings Methodist Church.
She was a loving and caring person to everyone she knew. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready for a good joke. She was a special person who loved her friends and family dearly.
