Betty Sue Adams, 78, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on November 27, 1943 in Bethelridge, KY to the late Hulen Hodge and Viola Auter Hodge. Betty enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson’s, going to yard sales, dancing and listening to bluegrass and gospel music. She also cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Donnie “Shack” Shackelford (Angie) of Stanford, Billy Shackelford (Angie) of Moreland, KY and Buster Adams (Teresa) of Highland, KY; two brothers, Billy Hodge and Jerry Hodge; six sisters, Josephine West, Wilma Harness, June Hodge, Alberta Lawson, Sarah Vangordon and Mary Slone; 13 grandchildren, Noah, Waylan, Tara, Shawna, Hannah, Nikki, Dusty, Junior, Harley, Desmarae, Jeremy, A.J.; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulen and Viola Hodge; three children, Kevin “Smiley” Shackelford, Melissa Adams and Parker Shackelford (infant); one brother, Allen Hodge; three sisters, Hazel Mosely, Elizabeth Trosper and Naden Warren; and two grandchildren, Matt Shackelford and Layla Shackelford.
A one-day service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.
