Bobby G. James, 79, of Stanford, KY passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Danville Centre Health and Rehabilitation after a long illness. Born on September 16, 1941 in Stanford, KY to the late Cecil James and the late Geneva Nicely James. Bobby was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Stanford, Ky. Bobby worked for 25 years at American Greetings and was the owner of Bobby James Moving and Storage.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Bonnie Combs James of Stanford, KY; two sons, Bobby “Bob” James (Teresa) of Versailles, KY, and William “Bill” James (Sally) of Danville, KY. Four grandchildren who each held a very special place in his heart, Amanda Dowell (Bryan), Ethan James, Daniel James (Hannah) and Tanner James. Two great grandchildren, Drew Dowell and Jacob Dowell who brought him many smiles in his later years. Two sisters, Marie Moberly of Stanford, KY and Jane Keeble of Midlothian, VA
A one-day service has been scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Michael James officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Scott, Harvey Naylor, Wendell Morris and Bill Priddy.
