Bobby Jerry Shannon, 76, of Hustonville, KY passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on June 19, 1944 in Danville, KY to the late Granville Shannon and Josie Ann Pike Shannon. He was a machine operator and a farmer for most of his life. He spent 28 years as a machine operator at Modine in Harrodsburg, KY and raised goats for over 23 years. He enjoyed working on the farm and wood crafting.He attended Mt. Hebron Baptist Church for 20 years and was a member of South Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Shannon of Hustonville, KY; daughter, Angie Shackleford (Billy) of Moreland, KY; two step-sons, Kenny Coffman of South Fork, KY and Brian Keith Coffman (Rita) of New Salem, KY; step-daughter, Teresa Reed (Jeff) of Highland, KY; one brother, Charles Shannon of Danville, KY; one sister, Gladys Allsman(Ed) of Danville, KY; sister-in-law, Debra Owens, a grandson, Jeremy Lee Smith; four step-grandchildren, Casey Reed (Kylie), Morgan Spurlin (Ethan), Brandon Coffman, and Matt Coffman; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville Shannon and Josie Ann Pike Shannon; and two brothers, Walter Marvin Shannon and Winslow Shannon.
A one day service has been scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ricky Elmore, Scott Shannon, Kenny Grubbs, Steve Niekirk, Brayon Reeves and Ricky Shannon.
