Danny Coffman, 78, of South Fork, KY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Born on July 31, 1943 in South Fork to the late George and Louise Eggert Coffman. He was the widower to the late Sandy Robbins Coffman.
Danny aka, Dink or Bossman, is a man who loved to work. He drove a school bus for McKinney Elementary for many years, operated Danny Coffman’s Garage, had a wrecker service, installed septic tanks, cattle farmer, you could go on and on. He and his late wife, Sandy, would work seven days a week helping those in the South Fork and surrounding communities. If someone needed something done, Danny would find a way to do it. He was a pillar in the South Fork community because of how hard he worked and the way he helped others. He was even recognized by the local court as having July 31st, Danny Coffman day. There is a lot about life that you cannot learn from books. This is what some people would refer to him as, “DCU”, meaning Danny Coffman University. Danny was a family man, he loved his children, grandkids and great-grandkids more than anything. He attended South Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Coffman (Cari) of South Fork and Keith Coffman (Iva) of South Fork; three brothers, Mickey “Butch” Lee Coffman, Bobby Coffman (Juanita) and Joey Wayne Coffman; one sister, Paulette Hazlett; seven grandchildren, Adrian Drakeford, Harley Rector, Zach Coffman, Gavin Coffman, Logan Hensley, Kailee Hensley and Bowen Bragg; three great-grandchildren, Weston, Raylan and Ryder; two granddogs, Maverick and Ringo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Coffman; parents, George and Louise Coffman; two brothers, Donnie Coffman (Infant), and Ronnie Coffman; one sister, Regina Stanley; and one daughter-in-law, Shelly Sears Coffman.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford. Funeral will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Wilson and Bro. Andrew McGinnis officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Wayne Pullum, Roger Patterson, Bruce Fields, Johnny Wilcher, Jason Lester, Ronnie Yocum, Bobby Brown and Jason Caldwell.
