Durward “Dewey” Leo Bodley, 96, of Crab Orchard, KY passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Lexington V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born on March 25, 1926 in Chittenango, NY to the late Leo and Ida Emhoff Bodley. He was the widower to the late Betty Marie Duncan Bodley. He was a WWII and Korean War Veteran, serving in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Airforce. He was a member of Preachersville Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip Bodley (Lori) of Crab Orchard and Dewey Bodley (Pam) of North Carolina; one daughter, Jill Lewis (George) of North Carolina; two siblings, Marvin Bodley and Alice Cote; three grandchildren, Dylan, Laura and Ethan; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Ryleigh, Cody and Chase; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bodley; parents, Leo and Ida Bodley; three brothers, Frank Wayne Bodley, Charles Bodley and Meldan Bodley; and four sisters, Cherry Carney, Mary Chatterson, Melda Virgil and Gloria Cox.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Preachersville Methodist Church in Crab Orchard, KY. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Perryville Cemetery in New York.
