Elvena Yocum, 63, of Kings Mountain, KY passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born on November 29, 1957 in Versailles, KY to the late Edward Clay and Lizzie Reynolds Yocum. Elvena enjoyed attending church and singing. She loved her family more than anything. She was a homemaker for most of her life and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Smith, Jr. of Kings Mountain, KY and Clinton Smith of Casey County, KY; four daughters, Alvena Pike of Casey County, KY, Angela Coontz (Jody) of Junction City, KY, Jennifer Smith (Stewart Goode) of Casey County, KY and Kimberly Smith of Kings Mountain, KY; one brother, Tommy Yocum of Crab Orchard, KY; one sister, Rosie Scharbrough of Stanford, KY; twelve grandchildren, Angel, Matthew, Mary, Christy, Dustin, Miley, Moses, Americus, Lavena, Anna, Charity and James; four great-grandchildren, Conner, Maci, Remi and Layla; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Yocum, Marion Yocum, Ellis Yocum and Jessie Yocum.
Visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY with Bro. Ronald Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.
Active Pallbearers are Vernon Smith, Jr., Dalton Richards, Kimberly Smith, Chris Snow, Matthew Coontz, Dustin Snow and Moses Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are Christy Richards, Americus Smith and Jennifer Smith.
