Glen T. Campbell, 89, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 7,
2023. Born on January 15, 1934 in Waynesburg, KY to the late Ed and Evie Caldwell Campbell.
He was a member of United Methodist New Beginning’s Church for over 40 years and was a
florist for most of his life. Glen purchased Gilliland’s Florist in Stanford in 1972 and owned and
operated the florist for over 20 years. He enjoyed landscaping, farming, nature and racing
boats. Glenn was an exceptionally hard worker, and was raised that way. When he wasn’t
working, you could depend on finding him at Lake Cumberland racing boats. Glen couldn’t
swim, so he bought the best life jacket money could buy. He loved spending time with his
family at Lake Cumberland and Forkland area, where they would ride dirt bikes and spend time
in the outdoors. He shared with his family the value of hardwork and the beauty of nature.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Anderson Campbell of Stanford; two children, Thomas Earl
“Tommy” Campbell of Harrodsburg, KY (Lisa) and Cathy Grubbs (Bobby) of Stanford; five
grandchildren, Alyssa Fox, Linsey Martin, Sarah Campbell, Ethan Campbell and Caitlyn Sawyer;
eight grandchildren, Parker, Railey, Maylee, Anna Currie, Barrett, Dawson, Grayson and Silas;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed “Poppa” and Evie Campbell; two brothers, Stanley
Campbell and Jack Campbell; and two sisters, Bernice Houston and Annabelle Campbell.
A one-day service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford,
