Hayes Deatherage, 91, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020; born June 4, 1928 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Clarence Milton Deatherage and Leala Adams Deatherage. Hayes was the widower of the late Alma Sue Deatherage who preceded him in death. Hayes was of the Baptist Faith. Hayes was an established plumber for most of his life who loved to go crappie fishing for the day and drive his old red convertible. Hayes always enjoyed creating beautiful woodwork, and loved to restore old antiques. As busy as he kept, he always looked forward to hanging out and drinking coffee with his buddies.
Survivors include his son, Troy Deatherage (Christie) of Clarkston, MI; their three children Trevor Deatherage, Joshua Deatherage and Brandon Deatherage; one sister, Patty Cromer of Brodhead, Kentucky; and several brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Hayes was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Louise Kidd and Alma Mae Deatherage; five brothers; Jim Deatherage, Clarence “Bug” Deatherage, Lester Deatherage, Foster “Doc” Deatherage, Eugene “Billy” Deatherage.
Due to Covid-19 regulations and restrictions, a private family service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.
