Jerry Mack Gill, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully in Louisville, KY on Friday, April 16, 2021. Born on November 18, 1933 in Louisville, KY to the late Harry and Ethel Peyton Gill. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP. Following his service in the military, Jerry would go on to work as a security guard. Following his retirement, you could find Jerry volunteering at the local hospital in Albany, KY. Jerry was a fun and loving person, a prankster and always up to something. He loved Kentucky Wildcat basketball. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Gill of California; one daughter, Shealynn Wellman of Las Vegas, NV; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his two favorite nieces, Bonita Cobb and Yvonne Stone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ethel Peyton Gill; one son, Johnny Gill; four brothers, Mason Gill, C.J. McBroom, Grover McBroom and Bill McBroom; and three sisters, Virginia Mae Triplett, Maureen Wilson and Betty Jean Gill.
A one-day service has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY followed by the procession to Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Wall officiating. Burial will immediately follow the graveside service.
