Mary Hobdy,69, of Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Born on April 29, 1950 in Woodburn, KY to the late Bill Cantrell and Martha Cantrell. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and loved to cook. Mary was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Ray Hobdy of Somerset, KY; one son, James Hobdy (Loriann) of Waynesburg, KY; one daughter, Silina Dipofi of Wilmore, KY; three brothers, Charles Cantrell of Bowling Green, KY, Kenneth Cantrell of Bowling Green, KY and Frank Cantrell of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Racheal, Jamie, Timothy, Haley, Zackery and Makla; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Raylynn, Kinsley, Conner and Remi; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Mays; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee.
A one-day service has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mike Raftery officiating the service. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
Pallbearers are James Hobdy, Timothy Hobdy, Zachery Dipofi, Lewis Dowell. Mitchell Brown and Chris Hollin.
