Milinda Kidd Sims

Milinda Josephine Kidd Sims, 90, of Waynesburg, KY passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on May 10, 1933 in Waynesburg to the late Millard and Cora Hodge Kidd. She is the widow of the late Marshall Nulen “Pap” Sims. She enjoyed hunting & fishing; a true hunter gatherer, who lived off the land. She was baptized at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Esta Mae Oaks (Kalep) of Waynesburg; one son, Douglas Marshall Sims (Julia); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pap Sims; parents, Millard and Cora Kidd; one son, Newland Wayne Sims and three siblings, Joseph James Kidd (Norma Jean), Glenn Ivan Kidd (Carrie Lee) and Everette Ray Kidd.

A one-day service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Parlor Grove Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.

Active Pallbearers are Michael Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Kasidy Shelton, Kaitlynn Shelton, Andrew Doolin and Kayla Shelton.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Oaks, Judy Shelton and Douglas Sims.
