Opal Marie Wilburn Neikirk

Opal Marie Wilburn Neikirk, 76 of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Born on January 3, 1947 in Danville, KY to the late Dewey and Ella Chambers Wilburn. Opal was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed being a homemaker, loved the Lord, cooking, and being with her family. She was crazy about her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Faith Temple in Jesus’s Name Church.

Survivors include her husband, Buford Neikirk; two sons, Steven Neikirk (Clara) of McKinney, KY and Mark Neikirk of Stanford; six grandchildren, Matthew Neikirk, Andrew Neikirk, Megan Neikirk, Kaitlyn Patterson (Derek), Tristen Neikirk and Landon Neikirk; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ella Wilburn; and seven siblings, Tom Wilburn, Cinda Sims, Frances Peterson, Evelyn Devine, Mary Jane Graham, Leon Wilburn and William Dewey Wilburn.

A one-day service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Faith Temple In Jesus’s Name Church in Preachersville, Ky. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Roger Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Junction City Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are Derek Patterson, Junior Stevens, Roger Stevens, Roger Wilburn, Steven Neikirk, Matthew Neikirk, Andrew Neikirk, Tristen Neikirk, Landon Neikirk and Shane Rowe.
