Susan (Beazley) Cherry

Susan Beazley Cherry, 89, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at home, with her children by her side. Born on December 3, 1932 in Stanford, KY to the late Gatewood and Pearl Embry Beazley. She was the widow to the late James Washington "Jim" Cherry. Susan and her husband, James Washington Cherry, owned and operated the Cherokee Sales Corporation. She was a member of the "Sweet Adeline's", a woman's singing group, and the Lincoln County Homemakers. She was a member of the Stanford Christian Church. Susan was raised here the former Beazley Funeral Home, which was owned and operated by her mother, Pearl Beazley.

Survivors include one son, James Gatewood Cherry; one daughter, Susan Ann Cherry, both of Stanford, KY; two grandchildren, James Gatewood Cherry, Jr. (Mary) of Winchester, KY and Kimberly Pearl Cherry (Brian) of Spring Hill, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Annabelle Grace Hanback and Luke Brian Hanback of Spring Hill, Tennessee; two nephews, Charles Samuel Gilliland (Alice) of Danville, KY and Jimmy Todd of Murfreesboro, TN; and one niece, Sandra Todd Beecham (Don) Murfreesboro, TN.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Washington "Jim" Cherry; parents, Gatewood and Pearl Embry Beazley; two sisters, Roberta "Berta" Cooper and Florence Beazley; one niece, Jackie Estridge Slone; two infant great-nieces, Gatie Estridge and Pearl Ann Slone; and an adopted great-nephew, Timothy "Timmy" Slone.

Visitation has been scheduled for Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p. m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Buffalo Springs Cemetery with Bro. Stewart Dawson officiating.
