Ethan has been with Spurlin Funeral Home since December of 2014. He is married to Morgan Reed. They were married on October 5, 2019 in Lexington, KY. He and his wife are members of Stanford Baptist Church.
Ethan graduated from Lincoln County High School in 2009. He attended and graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. He then attended and graduated from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN in 2013 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Funeral Service and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service.
Dan Grigson served Lincoln Countians for 33 years as their U.K. County Agricultural Extension Agent. He has received numerous national and state awards in recognition of his service to the county. Grigson has funeral service experience from working part-time in the 1970s in Powell County and here locally over the past 15 years. Dan began his part-time work as support staff with Spurlin Funeral Home in January of 2012.
Grigson is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and is an avid UK sports fan. He and his family are very involved in community activities. He serves as a Deacon at Stanford Baptist Church. Dan's wife, Linda Grigson, was the Director of the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center. Their family includes daughter, Jennifer Stamper and her husband Aaron, and David Grigson and his wife, Kelly. The Grigson families are all residents of Lincoln County.
Norman R. Lawrence has been with Spurlin Funeral Home since December 2011. Norman was born in Lincoln County, KY and moved to Lexington, KY after spending two years in the U.S. Army serving as a tank operator in Germany. He retired from Orkin Exterminating in June 2000 with 25 years of service and moved back to Stanford, KY where he now resides. Norman is the widower of Sharon Ryan Lawrence to whom he was married for twenty years until her passing in January 2000.
Since joining the Spurlin Funeral Home staff, Norman has been a tremendous blessing. From greeting families at visitation and funeral services, assisting in removals, and picking up and delivering items for the funeral home, Norman is dependable, caring, and always ready to help in whatever capacity he is needed.

Calvin Denham is married to Harriet Thompson. They were
married on February 2, 1964 at the Drakes Creek Baptist Church. They have one
son Todd Denham (Roni Ann) of Winchester, Ky. One granddaughter, Makenna Rose
Denham. He and his wife are members of the Stanford Baptist Church where he
serves as a Deacon.
Calvin
retired from First Southern National Bank in 2020 after being in the banking
industry for 52 years.
Calvin
serves on the Lincoln County Board of Adjustments, First Priority Board,
Lincoln County Baptist Budget Committee and The Gideon's International as a
speaker, Habitat for Humanity. Calvin has been with Spurlin Funeral Home since
2010 where he serves greeting families at visitation and funerals.
Harold W. McLaren has been with Spurlin Funeral Home since February 2007. Harold assisted in many activities at Spurlin that included ministering to families in their time of loss, working funerals and visitations. Harold is an ordained Christian church minister. He and his wife are members of Indian Hills Christian Church in Danville, Kentucky and both have retired from careers in education.
On April 8, 1967, Harold married Patsy Wall of Kings Mountain, Kentucky. They have three children: Susan (Jamie) Walters a teacher at Pulaski Southwestern H.S.; Allissa (Phillip) Pendleton, a teacher at Stanford Elementary; and Bradley (Crissy) McLaren, tool and die in Somerset, Kentucky. Patsy and Harold have five grandchildren: Hannah, Connor, and Keaton Pendleton; Karissa and Dylan McLaren.
Funeral Director
John W. Sallee, Jr. was with Spurlin Funeral Home from December 2006 until the day of his passing in October of 2018. John received his Funeral Director License in June 2011. John retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years as a Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman. He is a Vietnam Veteran, having served as Corpsman with the First Marine Air Wing in Vietnam. John was employed with Affiliated Computer Service until he moved back to Kentucky in 2003.
John was born in Boyle County and lived in Stanford and Moreland. John married JoBelle Long (deceased 2018) from Hustonville on November 25, 1960. They have two children, Pamela Ruthann Sallee of Stanford, and John W. Sallee, III (deceased 2011). Daughter-in-law Terri Sallee of Stanford, three grandchildren, James (Angela) Jackson, U.S. Navy reserves, detective with Sheriff Department & EMT in Colbert, Georgia. Emily Grace Sallee & John W. Sallee, IV of Georgia.
John and Jo were members of Stanford Christian Church. John was an ordained Elder.
John was a life time member of the VFW, a member of Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion.
Robert is married to Cammie Suter. They have four children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Robert is Elder of Boneyville Baptist Church of Stanford, KY.
He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1979. He then joined and spent 5 years serving in the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the military he attended Campbellsville University for 2 years. He pastored at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Monticello, KY for 9 years and is currently pastoring his 22nd year at Boneyville Baptist Church. Robert retired from Boyle County Detention Center after serving 18 years.
Vola W. Brown has served as pastor in Lincoln County for
over 40 years. In 1979, he came to Lincoln County from Pulaski County to become
pastor of the Pleasant View Baptist Church where he served for 20 years; then was
pastor of Freedom Baptist Church close to two years. After that, Vola was the
founding pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Stanford where he served for 16
years.
Having been in the ministry for many years and doing many
funerals, he has helped a lot of families through their grieving process. This
experience will enable him to help our families who are hurting.
Brown is a graduate of The University of the Cumberlands,
then served on the school’s Church Relation Board for a few years and has served
many areas of ministry through the years. He enjoys watching his cattle graze
on the farm.
Family is especially important to him! His wife, Jeanne
Brown, is a retired teacher from Somerset City School System. Other family
members include Kim Brown Jones, Stephen D. Brown, and Jeremy Compton. He is
Papa to seven grandchildren who are incredibly special in his life.
Vola retired from
Grace Fellowship and was installed as Pastor Emeritus. He enjoys helping other
churches and is currently serving as interim pastor of Stanford Baptist Church.
